About the editing process

Wedding video questions

In this section we've answered the following questions:

Q: How long will the edited video be?

A: The length of your final video will be approximately 90-120 minutes, but this is very much dependant on your chosen video package, and the duration of your service and speeches. We do not edit the video to a fixed length, and therefore we will not cut out anything important.

Q: Do you cut important parts out of the video if it is going to be longer than a certain length?

A: We do not edit to a fixed length, and therefore we will not cut out anything important. If your service is an hour long, we will show it in full. If your speeches are 10 minutes or 45 minutes in length, they will again be shown in full.

Q: Will good footage end up on the cutting room floor?

A: Forever On Film will never cut any good footage from your final video. During the editing process we place the footage of the ceremony and speeches from both cameras together and select the best shot throughout. During the rest of your video we select all of the good footage and present it in the best possible way. Rest assured nothing of importance will end up on the cutting room floor.

Q: When will the finished video be delivered?

A: The editing stage is where everything comes together and your unique wedding video is created. Editing will usually take 5-10 days to complete, however we prefer not to place an exact time limit on this process. We like to be able to create your individual video with our utmost attention to detail, and will not cut corners to finish it within a couple of days.

At quieter times of the year, we would expect to deliver your wedding video to you by the time you return from honeymoon (unless you've booked a package that includes the Honeymoon Photo Montage in which case we would normally deliver it a week after you've sent us your honeymoon photos). During the busier spring and summer months this delivery time may be a little longer, but we will always keep you informed of our progress.

In order to avoid delays, we do request that any music choices and photos that you may be including in a montage, are sent to us in good time prior to the wedding. If you book a package which includes the Honeymoon Photo Montage, you should aim to get your honeymoon photos to us as soon as possible after you get back to the UK.
